“We have watched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby,” Curtis told AARP magazine. “And she and her fiancé will get married next year at a wedding that I will officiate.”

Curtis and Guest, best known for his role as lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel in This Is Spinal Tap, have been married since 1984 and share two children together, Ruby and 34-year-old daughter Annie, who’s married and makes a living as a dance instructor.

Curtis gushed about how happy and proud she was of both herself and the life she built with her husband. She said that she was in a state of “constant metamorphosis.” The Knives Out actress also reflected back on her sobriety journey after struggling with Vicodin and alcohol addiction in 1999. She said that if she hadn’t been able to quit she would’ve been “dead for sure.”

Curtis, excited for the future and grateful to be around to witness it, said that she sees herself as “just a sober person — flawed, contradictory, broken and redeemed.”

She added, “I wake up every day at 4 a.m. and have so much on my mind. I’m just so crazy excited and creative right now. And I don’t want to squander any of it.”

Curtis’ caption on her Instagram posts reflects her overjoyed attitude toward life.

“…I AM SO HAPPY!
Happy to be me.
Happy to be having such a creative time. @halloweenmovie
Happy that I’m sober and clear.
Happy that my family is safe and flourishing…”
