Jamie Foxx was injured during an altercation at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills on Friday night while celebrating his birthday with family.
According to law enforcement sources, police were called to the upscale restaurant around 10 p.m. following reports of a fight inside. By the time officers arrived, Foxx had already left the scene.
An assault report was filed, and Foxx’s name is listed as a party involved. Police are expected to follow up with him as the investigation continues.
A witness testified that the incident began when customers at a nearby table were being rude and using vulgar language. Foxx, whose family was present, asked them to stop. The situation escalated when someone allegedly threw a glass, hitting the actor in the face.
A spokesperson for Foxx confirmed the details, saying, “Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called, and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”
Foxx was at the restaurant with his daughters, Corinne and Anelise Foxx, and his former partner, Kristin Grannis. Despite the injury, the actor did not remain at the scene to seek medical attention.
The actor has recently opened up about his mysterious emergency hospitalization in 2023.
