Miranda Kerr’s rumored boyfriend, Australian casino mogul and millionaire James Packer, got into a physical altercation with his childhood friend David Gyngell, who is the chairman of Nine Entertainment Co.

Packer and Gyngall’s public spat occurred on May 4 outside of Packer’s Sydney’s home, reported the Daily Mail. Gyngell had come over to Packer’s house to confront him about his treatment of his estranged wife Erica Packer, with whom he has three children and from whom he allegedly split because of his relationship with Kerr. Gyngell had been the best man at Packer's wedding.

"He fully accepts that he was the instigator of the incident," a spokesman for Gyngell said in a statement. "Clearly, had he not turned up at Packer's premises in an angry mood then the confrontation would never have occurred."

One person who found the incident particularly funny was Gyngell’s wife, who took to Twitter to relate her husband’s scuffle to that between Solange and Jay Z, which was caught in leaked footage from an elevator in The Standard Hotel. “Okay so they’re much better dressed and more discreet but I feel a kinship with Beyonce, Solange, and Jay-Z today,” wrote Leila McKinnon.

Packer, 46, has been linked to Kerr, 31, since December – two months after the Victoria’s Secret model split from her husband, Orlando Bloom.
