James Franco shaved his head for his upcoming role in Zeroville and documented his drastic transformation with a series of photos on Instagram.
“Say Goodbye to this hair,” Franco told his Twitter followers on Wednesday, foreshadowing his surprising makeover.
Late Wednesday night, Franco brought his followers along for the ride as he got his head completely shaved, leaving him “bald as a mutha.”
Franco had to get rid of his movie star locks to play Vikar in Zeroville, based on the book by Steve Erickson. Vikar, also named Jerome, is a man living in 1969 Hollywood who becomes so obsessed with cinema that he blurs the lines between film and reality.
In his final update, Franco shared a photo of his new bald look, wearing Gucci aviators and a fake mustache to complete the threatening look.
