CBS has announced that the host of the 59th Grammy Awards will be late night host James Corden.
Yes, for the first time in five years, the Grammys will be hosted by someone other than LL Cool J. British comedic actor Corden, who has become well-known for his successful “Carpool Karaoke” segments on The Late Late Show, is extremely excited about his newest hosting gig.
“I am truly honored to be hosting the Grammys next year,” he said in a statement. “It’s the biggest, most prestigious award show in music and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such an incredible night.”
CBS is hoping Corden will be able to boost the show’s ratings, especially in the young-adult demographic, where it had been struggling under the helm of LL Cool J.
