Barbara Walters’ daughter Jacqueline Danforth entered a plea of not guilty to a DUI offense that occurred on May 21 in Naples Fla., on Wednesday, reported E! News.
When Danforth was arrested last month, she initially refused to comply with a Breathalyzer test. After agreeing to the test, her BAC registered at .218 – well above Florida’s legal limit of .08. Danforth was booked and released on $1,000 bail a few hours later.
Danforth, 44, drew police attention when she put her SUV in park in the center lane of highway I-75 in the early morning of May 21. A male passenger in the vehicle was also suspected of intoxication. Both were handcuffed at the scene.
Danforth has not been formally charged with a DUI, having waived her right to an arraignment on the date of her arrest. Now that she has entered a plea, law enforcement will launch an investigation and begin reviewing evidence pertaining to the case.
Danforth is due back in court on July 9.
