Michael Jackson’s personal doctor Dr. Conrad Murray could be charged today with involuntary manslaughter, according to CNN. Since Michael Jackson’s sudden death last June, Murray has been the prime focus of the investigation though he has consistently denied any involvement in Jacksons death. He was with Jackson the day he died and also tried to revive him.
A forensic investigation found the powerful sedative propofol and at least two other sedatives in Jacksons’ system after he died. Propofol is the drug Murray has admitted giving Jackson on the day of his death in order to help him sleep. Murray has claimed the amount he administered was small and could not have been fatal. Many, including Jackson’s sister Janet Jackson, have said that they consider Murray resposnsible for the death.
If Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter, it will be up to a judge to decide whether he should go on trial. Murray’s criminal defence attorney, J. Michael Flanagan, said that Murray is currently in Los Angeles and “he’ll be available” for court if wanted. –MANDY COHEN
