J.K. Rowling penned a story – in the voice of Daily Prophet journalist Rita Skeeter – about her beloved Harry Potter characters all grown up and attending the Quidditch World Cup Finals.

J.K. Rowling Writes Harry Potter Gossip Column

The gossip column catches up with Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, who are V.I.P’s at the wizard world’s biggest sporting event. Skeeter, in addition to recapping the appearance of “a certain gang of infamous wizards" at the tournament, provides some colorful commentary on their adult lives and looks.

“About to turn 34, there are a couple of threads of silver in the famous Auror’s black hair, but he continues to wear the distinctive round glasses thtat some might say are better suited to a style-deficient twelve-year-old,” Skeeter writes about Harry. “The famous lightning scare has company: Potter is sporting a nasty cut over his right cheekbone.”

Since the Ministry of Magic wouldn’t comment on the origin of Harry’s scar, Skeeter saw fit to invent a possibility. “Has his wife perhaps curse him? Are cracks beginning to show in a union that the Potters are determined to promote as happy?” she asks before implying that Harry and Viktor Krum’s relationship might not be entirely platonic.

As for Ron, “whose famous ginger hair appears to be thinning slightly,” he now co-manages Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes after apparently growing tired of being in Harry’s shadow. Rons’s wife Hermione is Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. After wondering if Hermione has it all, Skeeter answers her own question, writing, “No – look at her hair.”

Neville and his wife are rumored to be alcoholics. And Luna Lovegood’s children are “too disturbed to be seen in public.”
