J.K. Rowling took to Twitter to share her condolences for Luis Vielma. Vielma was an employee at Universal Studios working at the Harry Potter ride. He was also a victim in Orlando’s Sunday morning shooting at the Pulse gay nightclub. After learning that he was one of the 50 that lost their lives in the incident Rowling tweeted:
Rowling retweeted and replied to reactions of Vielma’s passing.
A co-worker of Vielma’s informed Rowling of another employee whom fell victim to the shooting but was continuing his fight.
Rowling responded with more well wishes.
Sadly, he did not. According to Newsweek, the ride was closed on Sunday out of respect to Vielma and his family. “We are deeply saddened over the loss of our team member,” a spokesperson for the theme park said in a statement. “We are working to support his friends and colleagues here at Universal Orlando. Our thoughts and prayers are with Luis, his family, and all the victims of this tragedy.”
