J.J. Abrams and James Franco spoke on stage at the 2015 Hulu Upfront Presentation at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom Wednesday about their new project 11/22/63.

Abrams, who is executive producing the Hulu original series based on Stephen King‘s book, took Franco to task for his appearance at the upfronts, saying, “Thanks for dressing up, James.” Franco, wearings jeans and a leather jacket, retorted, “This is my first upfronts, I didn’t know it was so fancy.”

In more serious moments, Abrams and Franco touted the forthcoming series that is set to hit the streaming service next year. On Instagram, Franco captioned a picture of his Variety cover, “Here comes HULU! The new Stephen King project, “11/22/63,” produced by JJ ABRAMS. BOOM!”

In addition to 11/22/63, in which Franco stars as high school teacher Jake Epping who travels back in time to to try to prevent JFK’s assassination, Hulu is promising a lot more in terms of content for the coming months. One of the major announcements during upfronts was that Hulu won the battle for Seinfeld’s catalogue of episodes.

“If you take away one thing, it’s that 2015 is the year Hulu will break out,” Hulu Chief Executive Mike Hopkins told the audience of advertisers. “We are investing significantly in content and technology. We have exclusive deals that set Hulu apart and set the stage for our future.”
