In the video, produced by The Brazilian Tourism Board, Embratur, Sangalo is shown arriving at the venue, graciously making her way through a horde of excited fans. Once upon the stage, Sangalo lavishes praise on Brazil and its people.
“Brazil is definitely the best place in the world,” Sangalo says. “With the most beautiful beaches, the people are more pleasant. The people are prettier and more caring. And here, you will find the world’s biggest festival."
Performing “Encontro” – which means "meeting" in Portuguese – Sangalo sings the number's uplifting chorus that translates to “Brazil will win your heart.” In the video, the singer is shown dancing on stage in a white ensemble and matching headdress. Shots of Salvador, Brazil and people dancing a choreographed number in the streets are spliced throughout.
"The song will also portray a country that is ready to welcome international tourists with open arms and will represent the warmth of the Brazilian people and cultural beauties that visitors find when they arrive in Brazil," said Embratur’s president Vicente Neto in a press release.
A vast number of foreign travelers will visit Brazil in the coming months as the country prepares to host the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics.
