Ivanka Trump’s Lawyers Throw Her Brothers & Dad Under The Bus In $250 Million Lawsuit, Say They May Be Guilty

Ivanka Trump‘s lawyers have implied that her brothers and father, former President Donald Trump, were responsible for fraud at the Trump Organization.

In recent news regarding New York Attorney General Letitia James’s $250 million lawsuit against various members of the Trump family for over a decade of financial crimes, Ivanka and her father have asked for a delay to the start of the trial.

If convicted, the Trumps would never be able to do business in New York again.

While Donald Trump Sr.’s lawyers cited a need to properly and thoroughly review evidence, which they alleged could take upwards of 11,000 hours, Ivanka’s attorneys fiercely defended her innocence of the alleged crimes.

Her lawyers added that the fraud complaint “does not contain a single allegation that Ms. Trump directly or indirectly created, prepared, reviewed, or certified any of her father’s financial statements. Other individuals were responsible for those tasks.”

In court filings, James explicitly references Ivanka’s participation in securing loans that may have been issued partly through falsified financial statements.

Ivanka’s lawyers, however, explained that she has unique circumstances, because she had stepped away from management and operational roles in her father’s company in 2017 to serve in his administration.

It does not appear that the judge assigned to the case will agree to postpone the trial.

Back in February, Judge Arthur F. Engoron said that he was “determined” to start the case on time whether “come hell or high waters.”

“The core of this case is very simple: plaintiff claims that defendants submitted false financial statements to third-parties…. It is their own alleged documents and acts that are at issue…. October 2, 2023 is more than seven months away,” Engoron repeated in a public statement on Friday. “And with all that has already been accomplished, I see no reason to alter my determination to start the trial on that day.”
