Taylor Swift’s Miami Eras tour had an unexpected attendee in the audience: the former president’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and his granddaughter Arabella Kushner.
Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, share three children, Arabella and their two sons, Theodore and Joseph. Arabella has been a documented Swiftie for a long time, and in a post to Instagram to commemorate Arabella’s 13th birthday in July, Ivanka’s carousel of photos featured a picture of Arabella’s cake, shaped like a heart, topped with a Swift lyric, “Boys only want love if it’s torture.”
With Swift’s many memorable quotes, fans have pointed out that this feels like an odd statement for a mother to put on her tween’s cake.
Despite Arabella’s fan status, her appearance, alongside her mother, is highly unexpected, as Swift is a vocal Democrat and endorsed Trump’s opponent, in September minutes after the first presidential debate ended.
In her announcement to Instagram at the time, Swift wrote, “If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most.”
Swift also addressed the Trump campaign’s use of AI images of her in her Instagram post: “Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”
Swift’s endorsement of Harris prompted Trump to post an all-caps message to his social media platform Truth Social: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
The Trump campaign recently used Swift’s classic song “22” in a “cringey’ video posted to social media, which lip synced the lyrics, “I don’t know about you, but I’m–” and cuts it off to say “Voting Trump, baby!” The caption for the video reads, “Women for Trump!”

They emphasized, “There won’t be another deal. There may be one-offs, but that’s it.”
Seibert speculated, “If struggle without context is baffling, heaven without struggle isn’t very interesting.”
The shooter was identified to be John R. Lyons, 24, of Westchester, Illinois.
