Ivana Trump‘s plush New York City townhouse remains unsold despite its price being lowered by $7 million since its initial listing two years ago after her death.
The property, located in the upscale Lennox Hill neighborhood in Manhattan, was first listed in November 2022, four months after her body was discovered in the home. The 73-year-old businesswoman, who married Donald Trump from 1977 to 1992, moved into the six-story townhouse shortly after their bitter divorce in the early 1990s. The property has remained unchanged since its renovation, retaining its lavish, vintage charm.
Originally priced at $26.5 million, the townhouse’s price was slashed by $4 million in September 2023 before being taken off the market in November. In June 2024, agents relisted the home for $19.5 million, marking a total reduction of $7 million from its initial asking price.
Although it offers luxurious amenities and a sought-after location, interest remains lukewarm, and the house continues to fail to attract buyers, even at its reduced price.
The house features five bedrooms, five bathrooms and an array of opulent design elements, complete with a gated elevator and a grand curved staircase connecting each floor. Notable features include a crystal chandelier, silk wallpaper and a gold-embossed fireplace in the second-floor living room.
According to her friends, during the two years of isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic, Ivana had grown increasingly frail. Her close confidante, Nicki Haskell, said she feared an accident on the stairs. In an interview with Extra in July 2022, Haskell revealed that Ivana’s staircase was her biggest fear.
“I have to tell you something that has always been my fear. She had one of those beautiful staircases that was impossible to walk down,” she said, “Narrow in the inside and wider as it got out. I was always afraid that she would fall. I don’t know what happened, but it’s not hard for me to believe what happened.”
Ivana passed away following the tragic fall at her residence. The New York medical examiner‘s office confirmed that she had sustained blunt force injuries to her torse, ruling the death as an accident.
She was laid to rest in a private plot at the Trump National Gold Course in Bedminster, New Jersey. Her ex-husband and three children attended her funeral mass, holding a service that honored her with a display of 73 candles, one each representing a year of her life.
