Ivana Trump met with Gianluca Mech, an Italian diet expert, to tackle on adult obesity in the United States.

The two were seen together at the Oak Room in the Plaza Hotel on Thursday. Trump wants to work with Mech, who invented of the “Italiano Diet,” which promotes a diet plan that allows its users to “eat pasta, cookies, and lose weight” and bring it to America.

“The obesity rate in the United States has reached epidemic proportions,” Trump said in a statement. “We have to fight this now because it is getting worse, particularly among young people who need to be taught how to eat and exercise correctly so that they can have a long and healthy life.”

She believes that the obesity problem is the result of parents not caring about what they put in front of their children. “It’s all on the parents,” she says. “Whatever they put on the plate in front of the children, they’re hungry, they don’t cook, they eat. So if you put food in front of them that’s junk- pizza, unhealthy food, French fries – of course they eat it, and then they get obese.”

During the event, Trump did not make any mention of former First Lady Michelle Obama, who also tackled child obesity in the country.

She also did not go into detail about her ex-husband Donald Trump or Melania Trump. She did however refer to herself as “first Trump lady.” “I am not going to talk politics and White House or about my ex or first lady,” she said. “I am first Trump lady, that I can say.”

Mech recalls meeting Trump through a friend of a friend, because she had no reason to try the products because “she’s thin.”

Together they are “studying how to produce in America” and bring his diet plan here. While they are working together, there is no formal start date to their campaign.
