Inhalants & Prescription Pills Found In Aaron Carter’s Home After Death

New details about Aaron Carter’s death surfaced on Monday after law enforcement said they found “multiple cans of compressed air” and prescription pill bottles in Carter’s home.

The singer’s body was discovered in the bathroom on Saturday, where law enforcement said the compressed air canisters were found. Compressed air can be used for huffing, a type of substance abuse that involves inhaling fumes, often from household products, to get high.

Police were sent to Carter’s home for a welfare check in September after a concerning Instagram live video made fans and friends think the star was huffing.

Gary Madatyan, a friend of Carter’s said that he suspected Carter was abusing inhalants again, after being in and out of rehab for several months.

“We were very worried about him,” Madatyan told ET. “He looked terrible. He lost so much weight. He was not acting normal. His mind was not there.”

Law enforcement said they also discovered pill bottles at Carter’s home.

Carter was open about his addictions, revealing in 2019 that he started using inhalants when he was a teenager.

On The Doctors, he talked about using marijuana, opiates and benzodiazepine. He said he had multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety and bipolar disorder and was prescribed a number of medications, including Xanax, Seroquel and several other prescription pills.

The star had been open about his “traumatic” upbringing and tumultuous relationships with his family, including his brother, Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter, and his sister, Leslie Carter, who died of a drug overdose in 2012.

On Saturday, the 34-year-old was found by his housekeeper in his bathtub with the tub’s jets still on. The cause of death has not yet been reported by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
