Leroy Young, a Indiana teen, was found dead on Thursday after playing what appears to be a game of Russian roulette.
The teen, identified as 17-year-old Young, a former Kokomo High School student, was reportedly at a friend’s home when he took out a gun, loaded one round, aimed the gun at his temple and pulled the trigger.
A group of other teenagers were reportedly busy playing video games in another room. First responders were called to the scene, but EMTs were unable to revive Young, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation into the shooting is ongoing, said the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, and Kokomo High School made extra counselors available to students on Friday to help process Young’s sudden death.
It’s unclear whether or not Young truly intended to shoot himself, though the reports suggest he knew the gun was loaded. However, friends of Young’s have taken to Instagram and Twitter to mourn Young, and have arranged a moment of silence to be held on Wednesday.
