In Israel For Gay Pride, Caitlyn Jenner Flees Warzone After Saying There’s ‘No Place I’d Rather Be’
Caitlyn Jenner was in Tel Aviv as a guest of honor for the city’s annual gay pride festivities, which were unfortunately cancelled amid escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. Despite Jenner’s outspoken support for Israel and her delight in being there, she quickly fled the scene.
On June 13, Israel launched a series of targeted airstrikes on Tehran, which killed senior military officials and nuclear scientists, as well as destroying several Iranian nuclear facilities. In response, Iran fired ballistic missiles at major Israeli cities such as Haifa and Tel Aviv. This prompted an immediate shutdown of Israeli airspace, and on Friday, and the Israeli military warned citizens to take cover in bomb shelters, as “dozens” of Iranian ballistic missiles were headed towards Israel.
When the air strikes first started, Jenner and influencer Regev Gur took cover together. Sharing a selfie of the two, a glass of wine in Jenner’s hand, Gur wrote on X, “What did you do during the alerts, because I’m drinking with Caitlyn.”
Jenner also posted a photo of missiles flying through the air to Instagram, writing the caption, “A ‘quiet’ night in Tel Aviv. There is not a place I’d rather be, than with the brave people of Israel. God, please continue to shield and protect us.”
However, despite this comment, Jenner escaped the area on Sunday by crossing into the nearby country of Jordan, whose airspace has been intermittently closed and opened during the conflict. She is reportedly on her way back to Los Angeles.
Before her departure, Jenner posted on X, “What an incredible way it has been to celebrate Shabbat. I am here in Israel, in Tel Aviv with you all. I am a friend, advocate, ally, and thank you to the Israeli people for making me family. We will prevail and liberate the poor Iranian people held hostage by terrorist thugs!”
Jenner followed this up with a post commending Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, writing, “The leadership by @IsraeliPM Bibi, and Israel’s closest ally President @realDonaldTrump will not allow this reckless violence towards so many [to] continue. Israeli jets overhead in Iran now. (Bye bye terrorists). We will liberate Iran’s citizens. Thank you to all allies! PEACE FOR ALL!”
