Iggy Azalea Confronts Sex Change Rumors With Humor

Iggy Azalea came across a rumor on the Internet that suggested she’d transitioned to physically become a woman prior to gaining fame as a rapper, and took to Twitter to address the speculation.

Azalea stumbled upon the story of her alleged sex reassignment surgery, written by Huzlers, that was penned earlier this month, and claimed that she’d opened up to MTV about her supposed struggle with gender dysmorphia. “I don’t mind if the whole world finds out,” she was alleged to have told the outlet. “I can’t hide it all my life.”

Setting the record straight, Azalea had a laugh about the false story that said she was born a male. Azalea didn’t seemed troubled about the rumor claiming she was a member of the transgender community – but found the name they attributed to her troubling.

Azalea, who was heading to the Billboard Women in Music Awards the following night, then jokingly wondered whether or not she would still be eligible for the award she was slated to pick up.
