Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson’s Fast And Furious spin-off, Hobbs vs Shaw is now being filmed at Glasgow City Centre.

Idris Elba playing the villain of the movie, was suited up in his all-black fighting gear as he performed stunts for the film. At one point, he was seen lying in a pile of broken glass and throwing a bike helmet to the ground.

Being the first big name to be seen in the city for the David Leitch-directed film, crowds gathered around to catch a peek of the actor near George Square.

On October 11, producer of the film, Hiram Garcia took Twitter to announce Elba’s role in the film.

“With two of the biggest action stars in the world in @TheRock & #JasonStatham you need to find a force of nature that can challenge them. A disrupter who raises hell in a way we’ve never seen before. Say hello to [Idris Elba] #Brixton. @idriselba,” Garcia wrote.

Johnson also announced his excitement for Elba joining the cast in an Instagram post.

“A pleasure to introduce the man himself [Idris Elba] @idriselba we brought in to our Fast & Furious franchise to wreak havoc, hell, and mayhem on our heroes HOBBS & SHAW,” the actor wrote.

The film will follow an unlikely alliance between U.S. Diplomatic Security Agent Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw. The two characters who were once enemies and came to hold a respect for one another throughout the franchise.
