Ice Cube has been facing backlash after tweeting anti-semitic pictures and conspiracy theories.

On June 6, he tweeted a cartoon image of men with exaggerated facial features playing monopoly on the backs of black people. He captioned the photo, “F— THE NEW NORMAL UNTIL THEY FIX THE OLD NORMAL!”

He posted another tweet discussing a conspiracy theory about how the “Black Cube of Saturn” lies within the Star of David and symbolizes an occult belief. Twitter covered this tweet with a “potentially sensitive content” badge.

Many responded to Ice Cube’s statements in an attempt to explain how it could be interpreted as hurtful to the Jewish community.

One user said, “Hi Cube. I’m sure you didn’t realize, but that’s a famous anti-Semitic meme you posted. Please take it down. Jews stand with you. I know you wouldn’t mean to fight hate with more hate. #BlackLivesMatter.”

Another added, “Cube, this is an Anti-Semitic trope. Please take it down as it suggests Jews control everything. And trust me, we don’t. Because if Jews controlled everything, I would be rich af & Donald Trump would be in prison #DoBetter.”

Some even thought that Ice Cube’s Twitter account was hacked, but he quickly shot down these rumors by tweeting, “This is CUBE. My account has not been hacked. I speak for no organization. I only speak for the meek people of thee earth. We will not expect crumbles from your table. We have to power of almighty God backing us all over the earth. NO MORE TALKING. Repent.”

Ice Cube’s song “Black Korea” had previously caused him to receive backlash for racist sentiment. However, he has been very active on both Twitter and Instagram in supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, especially in the wake of George Floyd’s death, a black man who was killed in police custody by an officer kneeling on his neck.

Earlier this week, he posted about systematic racism on Instagram with the caption, “Why they love to lock us up,” along with a political cartoon.
