Ian Watkins, the frontman and co-founder of the Lostprophets rock band, has copped to 11 charges levied against him, including the attempted rape of a baby.

Ian Watkins Admits Attempted Rape of Baby

Watkins, 36, who initially denied all allegations of child abuse, now also admits to conspiring to rape another baby and making child pornography. The Welsh rocker was initially accused of more than 20 instances of child abuse, nine for which he has yet to admit his guilt.

"This investigation has uncovered the most shocking and harrowing child abuse evidence I've ever seen," South Wales police DCI Peter Doyle told the press. "There is no doubt in my mind that Ian Watkins exploited his celebrity status in order to abuse young children. Today's outcome does not mark the end of our investigations and we will work tirelessly to identify any other victims."

Two Women Accused Of Abusing Own Children

Watkins also allegedly had help in finding victims of abuse, namely two women who reportedly abused their own children at his behest. The two women, whose names have not been released, are also on trial. Both Watkins and the women’s abusive interactions with children have apparently been found on a disc.

While Watkins has admitted to a number of charges, he’s attempting to distance himself from the actions by claiming he doesn’t remember committing the crimes, according to the UK The Guardian. It has not been ruled out that Watkins could have experienced drug-induced amnesia, as he is a known user of both cocaine and crystal meth.

Watkins and the two women will face sentencing on Dec. 18. The Lostprophets split up last month upon their singer’s arrest.
