Hunter Biden Makes Court Appearance Over Contempt Allegations In Luden Roberts’ Paternity Case
Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, made an appearance in an Arkansas court on Monday for a paternity case.
Lunden Roberts, who is the mother of one of Hunter Biden’s children, claimed that he ignored court orders that required him to disclose his financial records. She has called for a judge to send him to jail for contempt.
Independence County Circuit Judge Holly Meyer ruled last week that a hearing would be held on May 1 to address Hunter Biden’s contempt allegations.

In a previous court filing, Roberts claimed that a DNA test established Hunter Biden as the father of her child. Biden had previously denied that he was the four-year-old child’s father, so Roberts filed a paternity suit in 2019.
In his memoir, Biden said he denied paternity because he didn’t remember a sexual encounter with Roberts since it occurred when he was suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction after his divorce.
He agreed in 2020 to pay monthly child support, but the case is still ongoing because, in September, Biden asked the judge to reduce his child support payments due to “a substantial material change in financial circumstances” since the settlement.
This allowed Roberts to request records regarding Biden’s finances, including his art sales, properties and tax issues. She is represented by Clint and Jennifer Lancaster, lawyers who were part of Donald Trump‘s legal team that attempted to overturn his 2020 loss in Wisconsin. Biden has resisted Roberts’ attempts to see his personal finances.
His court appearance comes alongside the House GOP investigation into him and his financial records. This is also tied to the Justice Department’s criminal investigation that began under the Trump administration into Biden’s taxes, finances and foreign deals. Federal prosecutors may charge Biden with two misdemeanor counts of failure to file taxes, a count of tax evasion and a potential felony gun charge tied to the purchase of a firearm.
