Hulk Hogan Calls Irma Victims Without Water Or Power “Crybabies”

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan is weathering a storm on social media after firing off a pair of callous tweets about the victims of Hurricane Irma.

On Thursday Hogan, 64, referred to those who lost their power and water supplies as “crybabies” who could have had it much worse. The tweets have since been deleted.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, sent the tweets after eight elderly people died in a South Florida nursing home that had lost power during Irma.

Hogan’s remarks quickly sparked outrage on social media, inspiring many users to condemn his post.

“60,000 homes without power here, haven’t seen a crybaby yet, just people helping their neighbors. and what are you doing to help?” one person on Twitter replied.

“NEWSFLASH: You need water to live,” another comment read.

A few supporters of Hulkmania responded to his careless remarks with less fury.

“I think I know what you meant, but poor choice of words…brother,” one said.

Despite the generally negative reception of Hogan’s comments, one fan managed to interpret his tweets positively.

“Thank you for saying that Hulk I would rather go a week without power than bury a loved one.”

Earlier in the week Hogan tweeted that there was “a lot of damage” to his home in Clearwater, Florida, but that “everyone is safe.” It is unclear exactly how much damage his home sustained from Irma.

This isn’t the first time the wrestler’s reputation has been tarnished. In 2012 Hogan’s sextape was leaked by Gawker and in 2016 the wrestler filed a lawsuit against the media company forcing the website to shut down. Hogan was awarded a $115 million verdict against Gawker Media.
