Aussie actor Hugh Jackman, recently named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, will host the 2009 Oscar ceremony. The show, which has recently been anchored by talk show hosts such as John Stewart, David Letterman and Ellen DeGeneres, will be markedly different than in years past with more emphasis on Hollywood glamour than stand-up routines. The telecast's ratings have dropped dramatically in the last few years from 55 million a decade to 32 million last year. And, as Oscar producer Lawrence Mark noted to the New York Times, "It has not escaped our notice that High looks great in a tux!" (Photo: WENN)
