Hugh Jackman revealed he would like British actor Tom Hardy to take on the role as Wolverine in X-Men after his time comes to an end.
Jackman announced in May that his seventh appearance in the renowned Marvel franchise role will be his last, 15-years after making his debut as Wolverine in the 2000 film X-Men.
However, when asked if he could choose a young actor to play Wolverine, the Australian actor did have a name in mind.
“I haven’t really given it a lot of thought. I don’t want to make it too easy on the studio to replace me,” Jackman told MTV. “I’ve still got one more to do. I am sure they are already talking about it. There is some actor out there who they’ve told ‘shh, keep it quiet but we want you next.”‘
“He’s younger than me for sure, but I think Tom Hardy would be great,” Jackman added.
In the meantime, Jackman has recently been promoting his new film Pan.
Pan is set to hit theaters Oct. 9.
