Hugh Jackman roasted Ryan Reynolds after receiving his Emmy Award nomination, fueling the ongoing, fake feud between the two.

Jackman insulted Reynolds while talking to E!’s Scott Tweedie in an interview after the Emmy nominations were released. Jackman earned a nomination for his work in HBO’s Bad Education, in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie.

At the start of the conversation, Jackman said, “It’s a good way to wake up! I feel really good. I’m thrilled the film got nominated. Good day in our house.”

Tweedie then asked Jackman if he had heard from any of his friends, especially Reynolds, hinting at the pair’s fictional feud as action movie stars.

Jackman responded saying, “Lots of texts from everyone I know, nothing from Ryan.” He continued joking, “But Blake [Lively, Reynolds’s wife]… Hang on, I’m just reading it now. ‘He’s devastated. He says he’s not getting out of bed for three days. This is the greatest gift you’ve ever given me.’”

Jackman then said, “I don’t know! That’s all I got from Blake.”

The actor continued to joke, saying he’s “open” to an apology from Reynolds so that their feud can end. Jackman also noted he would dress formally for the likely virtual Emmy Awards, “from the waist up.”
