Is shock radio taking on on late night TV?
Shock jock Howard Stern isn't going to lose his reputation as a straight-shooter anytime soon. The Sirius/XM radio personality ripped into The Tonight Show's host, Jay Leno, on CNN's new show, Piers Morgan Tonight, according to The New York Post. "Jay is insane. And Jay is a crook. And the world knows exactly what he's up to. He steals a tremendous amount of material," he said.
Stern also put in his two cents about the legendary competition between late-night giants Leno and David Letterman. "He's not fit to scrub David Letterman's feet. I don't know how he's beaten David Letterman in the ratings. It's beyond my comprehension. America must be filled with morons who at night lay in bed – the ones who are watching him, they must be in a coma."
This isn't the first time that Stern has made his less-than-affable feelings known for Leno. In March 2010, Stern called him a "lapdog" on The Early Show, saying, "Just the mere mention of Jay Leno's name makes me want to vomit. I don't like this guy. I don't disguise it."
And he certainly didn't disguise it about five months before that in October 2009, when he addressed a joke that Leno did on his show in which he had a giant chicken announcing the week's football winners, according to PopEater.com. "This must be a giant Punk'd on me," the shock jock said on The Howard Stern Show. "This guy's ripped off like ten major things from my show. But the chicken thing we did for years." —KIMBERLY STEELE
