Netflix dropped an ad for House of Cards’ upcoming fourth season in the midst of the latest GOP presidential debate Tuesday night.
During a commercial break in the live debate broadcast, a campaign ad began to play. As shots of freshly planted crops, skyscrapers, small businesses, construction sites, military men returning home from war and waving flags played, an inspirational voiceover was in the background:
“It’s a new day in America. Today, more people will go to work, return home to their families, and sleep more soundly than ever before. All because one man refuses to settle. Putting people before politics.”
“That man is Frank Underwood,” the voiceover concluded, as Kevin Spacey‘s House of Cards character appears at his desk in the Oval Office.
Looking directly at the camera, he says, “America, I am only getting started.”
For the fourth season of House of Cards, it looks as though Underwood will be running for reelection on the merits of his “America Works” jobs plan that he fought tooth and nail to get accomplished throughout much of season 3.
House of Cards’ fourth season will be available in full on Netflix March 4, 2016.
