Russell Brand and James Marsden hopped away with the box office this weekend. In a weekend that was ruled by new films, their comedy Hop handily defeated thrillers Source Code, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, and Insidious, with Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, which took home $15 and $13 million, respectively.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules continued its strong showing, improving its two-week total to $38 million, while Bradley Cooper's thriller Limitless rounded out the top five, grossing $55 million in three weeks in release. –EMILY EXTON
