Hootie & The Blowfish Reunion Tour Makes Up $10 Million (To Date) [Ticket Info]

The Spice Girls recently made their comeback for their 2019 Reunion Tour, but Hootie & The Blowfish also made their return with big results.

The band went on their The Group Therapy Tour and scored the highest average gross attendance figures of their career. This comes after 25 years after their album Cracked Rear View topped the Billboard 200 in the 90s, according to Billboard.

The first 13 dates of their tour grossed $10.9 million, based on what was reported to Billboard Boxscore, with four dates that crossed the $1 million threshold. The band grossed $1.1 million in Raleigh, N.C., Atlanta, and Tampa, Florida. Their tour in Dallas added an additional $1 million.

To date, the tour is averaging $840,000 per show, which is a 207% increase over their 1996 pace of $274,000 per night. This is mainly due to ballooned ticket prices, which is an effect of the ticketing market and inflation.

In 1996, you could have purchased a tier one ticket to see the band for $22 (when adjusted with inflation this comes to $35.91), but in 2019 you could get as low as $29.50 to $139.50 for premium seats.

Hootie & The Blowfish are also high in demand since their attendance figures have also increased. Back in the 90s, their averaged attendance was 9,485 to 11,405. In 2019, the average is kicking in at 13,508 tickets sold. In total, they sold 175,603 tickets so far.

This tour celebrates their 25th anniversary of the Hootie’s Billboard 200 chart-topping 1994 LP Cracked Rear View.
