RuPaul Receives A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame
RuPaul Andre Charles, the host of RuPaul’s Drag Race, now has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The famous reality show host is the first drag queen to receive a star.
“I feel like I’m being knighted,” Charles said about the star on the Ellen Degeneres Show. “I feel like I’m being knighted — it is the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to me. I’ve done a lot of great things, a lot of great things have happened to me. This is the most exciting thing of all.”
Jane Fonda presented Charles, who has appeared on her show Grace and Frankie, with the star.
“Behind the glamour, behind the drag queen is a man of great depth, incredible intelligence and compassion,” Fonda said in a statement.
Charles’ show will premiere its 10th season this Thursday. But Charles does not only work on television — he has been releasing music since 1993, and his latest album, Essential, Vol. 2, came out last year.
