Kate Hudson turned heads on the red carpet for the first-ever People Magazine Awards Thursday night, where she picked up the Role Model Award.
Hudson, 35, showed up at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles wearing an asymmetrical, Grecian-style Valentino dress with Brian Atwood shoes. The actress accessorized for the awards ceremony with a Lee Savage clutch and House Harlow 1960 jewels.
As for her hair for the event, Hudson went with what hairstylist David Babaii calls the “Classic Kate.” To get Hudson’s beachy waves, Babalii suggests, “Once hair is dry, mist ghd heat protectant spray all over. Grab 2-inch hair sections using the ghd Classic Curl Iron, and wind the hair around the iron while keeping the iron open. This technique creates a soft, bouncy wave. After completing all sections, separate a few strands with fingers and gently tousle hair at roots with fingertips.”
