On Sunday, the biggest names in television gathered at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for the 76th annual Emmy Awards.
The 2023 Emmy Awards were pushed from their usual September date to January 2024 due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes, making Sunday’s Emmys the second of this calendar year. Any series or made-for-TV film entries at these awards must have been released between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024.
The ceremony was hosted by father and son Eugene and Dan Levy, known for their Emmy-winning comedy series Schitt’s Creek.
FX’s The Bear went into the night with 23 nominations, making it the most-nominated comedy television show in Emmy history. Three of the first four awards were given to actors of the series, with the cast and crew ending the night by breaking its own record for most Emmy wins for a comedy in a single year.
