Oscar-winning Holly Hunter has been confirmed to star in Alan Ball‘s new, untitled HBO drama.
The drama focuses on a multi-racial family: a philosophy professor, his lawyer wife, their three adopted children and their sole biological child. Hunter will play wife Audrey Black, matriarch of her home. Black is an idealist and former therapist. She believes she has the best ideas in mind for all her brood. She adopted children from Vietnam, Somalia and Colombia children before having her own child in her 40’s. She is left with her with mostly grown children, a child that sees things and a clinically depressed husband.
Ball, the creator of Six Feet Under, will executive produce the show alongside Peter Macdissi. Hunter’s past television roles have included Top of the Lake and Saving Grace, the last time she had been on TV. She will voice once again voice Elastigirl, or Mrs. Incredible, in The Incredibles sequel in 2018.
