A Tennessee man has been arrested for the 2011 kidnapping and murder of 20-year-old nursing student Holly Bobo, a cousin of country music star Whitney Duncan.

Man Charged With Holly Bobo's Murder

Zachary Adams, 29, was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping, reported Fox News. It’s believed that Adams took Bobo from her home in Decatur County in April of 2011 against her will and subsequently murdered her.

When the murder charge was read out for Adams, Bobo’s family had to face the reality that law enforcement was operating under the belief that Bobo is no longer alive. As recently as December 2013, the family had posted wanted flyers that offered a $250,000 reward for any information in regard to Bobo's kidnapping, according to the New York Daily News.

Bobo was last seen in April 2011, when her brother watched as she walked through the woods behind their home with an unknown man wearing camouflaged pants. Authorities have not revealed whether or not they’ve located the missing young woman’s body.

"We believe we can prove she was taken forcefully from her home without her consent," District Attorney General Hansel McCadams said at a news conference. "Based on the evidence before us, we feel she was killed in perpetration of that kidnapping."

Whitney Duncan Heartbroken

Duncan, a singer-songwriter and Survivor alum, took to Twitter to share her grief. Just a day prior to hearing the murder charge, Duncan had retweeted the missing persons poster, asking her followers to learn her cousin’s face so that they might be able to identify her.
