Hillary Clinton reportedly plans to officially announce her bid for the presidency in the 2016 election over the weekend.
Clinton, who has long been expected to make a second run for the presidency, has taped a video message announcing her bid that will be released Sunday, according to CNN. The video will be released through social media and will give a glimpse into the platform the former Secretary of State plans to run on.
After announcing, it is expected that Clinton won’t waste any time before heading to the early-voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire to drum up support for her candidacy. Though Clinton has been a steady frontrunner in polls for the Democratic nomination, Clinton reportedly plans not to take the early signs of support for granted, and will pull out all the stops on the campaign trail.
On Friday, perhaps as part of the roll out of her campaign, Clinton released an excerpt from her memoir, Hard Choices. In part of the excerpt, the new grandmother hinted that she had further political aspirations that she was determined to pursue largely because of her new role.
“Becoming a grandmother has made me think deeply about the responsibility we all share as stewards of the world we inherit and will one day pass on,” Clinton wrote in the epilogue. “Rather than make me want to slow down, it has spurred me to speed up.”
No other Democrats have announced their intention to run for president yet. Republicans Ted Cruz and Rand Paul have announced, and Marco Rubio is expected to soon follow suit.
