Just like in recent years, some celebrities are taking today to apologize for the costumes they wore over Halloween weekend that may have offended some.
Hilary Duff and boyfriend Jason Walsh are among those people. The couple dressed as a pilgrim and a Native American, respectively. While many celebrities have faced criticism for dressing as nNative Americans in the past, these two did not seem to get the message. They both took to social media today to apologize for their costumes, Duff on Twitter and Walsh on Instagram.
Chris Hemsworth also apologized on Friday for a Native American costume he wore for New Year’s Eve last year at a Lone Ranger themed party. Hemsworth, now a proponent of the #WaterIsLife campaign to protest the Dakota Access Pipeline, took this time to apologize in the midst of the ongoing protest for the Sioux and Standing Rock tribes in North Dakota.
