HHS Sec. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Tells Employees ‘The Deep State Is Real,’ Calls FDA An Industry ‘Sock Puppet’

In a private speech to the FDA last week, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made a series of comments that have people questioning his judgment.

This was Kennedy’s first joint appearance with the new FDA commissioner, Dr. Marty Makary. The appearance was intended to highlight the agency’s new priorities, including forcing food companies to disclose when they add ingredients to food.

Kennedy recently made headlines by flip-flopping on the measles vaccine after years of expressing skepticism about it.

In a 40-minute speech, Kennedy made comments ridiculing the Food and Drug Administration’s past decisions, asserting that the “Deep State” is real and referencing past CIA experiments on human mind control.

“President Trump always talks about the Deep State, and the media, you know, disparages him and says that he’s paranoid. But the Deep State is real. And it’s not, you know, just George Soros and Bill Gates and a bunch of nefarious individuals sitting together in a room and plotting the, you know, the destruction of humanity.”

Kennedy further claimed that the FDA’s proximity to the food industry has failed to address food contamination. “Like every agency [the FDA] at one point really became a sock puppet for the industry it was supposed to regulate.”

Kennedy’s speech comes less than two weeks after the administration’s widely controversial decision to lay off 3,500 FDA employees and thousands of workers at other health agencies. These firings included many of the FDA’s top vaccine regulators.

While Kennedy’s speech did not address the government layoffs, he previously called the selection – of what is presently roughly 10,000 employees – a necessary action for the HHS so that it could find ways to “do more with less.”

Prior to the 2024 election, Kennedy announced on X, “If you work for the FDA and are part of this corrupt system, I have two messages for you: 1. Preserve your records and 2. Pack your bags.”
