Tom Cruise has dropped out of the film adaptation of 60s TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E due to conflicts with Mission Impossible 5, and now the Man of Steel star Henry Cavill is in talks to replace him.
Cavill would co-star alongside Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander in the film about a pair of secret agents who work at the United Command for Law Enforcement fighting off the evil Thrush.
Coincidentally, Cavill originally tested for the role of Hammer’s character while Cruise was still set to star in the film, according to Variety.
Earlier, Guy Ritchie replaced Steven Soderbergh as the film’s director after Soderbergh announced he is taking a break from the industry.
Man of Steel, set for release this summer, will be Cavill’s first leading role.
