Heidi Klum has broken up with her bodyguard boyfriend of almost two years, Martin Kristen.

Klum, 40, started dating Kristen, 41, whom she employed as a bodyguard, after her separation from ex-husband Seal in 2012.

“I’ve known him for four years, and he’s been with our family for the last four years. He’s cared for our entire family, mostly for our four children [and] helped us tremendously… He’s a great man, and we just got to know each other from a different side,” Klum said in 2012 at the beginning of her new relationship.

Heidi Klum And Martin Kristen Remain Friends

Since news of Klum’s relationship with Kristen broke, she has adamantly denied that anything romantic began before she was separated from Seal. Kristen was there for Klum after her marriage dissolved, and a source says that now the two have decided to be friends.

“Life is about timing. He was incredibly supportive and they were there for each other, but they’re moving on now. They still have a great friendship,” the source told People.

The source revealed that, in addition to no longer being Klum’s boyfriend, Kristen is also no longer her employee.

Klum has not released any official statement concerning the split. Instead, she has been promoting the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition’s 50-year anniversary. Klum will host “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful,” a television special airing Monday, Feb. 3 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
