HEATHER LOCKLEAR ARRESTED IN DOMESTIC INCIDENT

Locklear, best known for her work on Melrose Place, was arrested on one count of felony domestic battery and three counts of battery for allegedly attacking three responding police officers. She was taken into custody after officers found evidence that the actress had battered her boyfriend, Chris Heisser, and caused him injury.

Locklear has allegedly been dealing with substance abuse issues for years. A close friend told People, “It’s a disease. She has to be ready to fix it herself. She knows help is available, she’s sought it out before, but you can’t force anybody to get help.”

Police were unable to divulge if alcohol was a component of the domestic incident. Heisser was reportedly arrested for a DUI just hours before Locklear was also arrested. A public information officer told People that his blood alcohol level was .19.

According to Sargent Eric Buschow, who spoke with CNN, Locklear was “extremely uncooperative and physically combative” with the deputies. She claimed she suffered injury as well and was taken to the hospital briefly, before being taken to the police station. Her bail was set at $20,000 and has already been paid, and the actress released.

She is currently set to appear in court on March 13.

Locklear previously sought help for psychological issues such as “anxiety and depression” in 2008, but then was arrested months later on suspicion of DUI. She was charged with a misdemeanor that specifically mentioned “prescription medication,” but the case was dismissed in 2009. She was also charged for a minor hit-and-run in 2010 and crashed her Porsche late last year, but was not cited for a DUI in either case.
