On Tuesday, HBO officially announced that it has given a straight-to-series order for House of the Dragon, an upcoming Thrones prequel series.
An upcoming 10-episode drama, which tells the story of House Targaryen, is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, and takes place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
HBO Max confirmed the news by sharing the tweet posted on the Game of Thrones official account. “#HouseOfTheDragon, a #GameofThrones prequel is coming to @HBO. The series is co-created by @GRRMSpeaking and Ryan Condal. Miguel Sapochnik will partner with Condal as showrunner and will direct the pilot and additional episodes.
