LOS ANGELES, CA - JULY 30: Co-chairman of The Weinstein Co. Harvey Weinstein arrives to The Weinstein Company and Lexus Present Lexus Short Films at The Regal Cinemas L.A. Live on July 30, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.
In a complaint filed Wednesday in New York, Harvey Weinstein has been accused of sexually harassing and assaulting a 16-year-old Polish model.
Jane Doe, the accuser, alleges that the movie mogul assaulted her at his New York City apartment in 2002, days after they’d met at one of her modeling agency events. Doe claims that Weinstein had promised to take her to lunch to discuss her career, but instead took her to his empty SoHo apartment and “threateningly and aggressively” demanded sex.
According to the filing, Weinstein instructed Doe to take her clothes off and implied that she’d never work as an actress unless she gave him what he wanted. “Terrified and struggling to hold back tears, Jane Doe said she would not and resisted his demands,” the filing stated. “Jane Doe was a virgin, and had no intention or understanding when she agreed to a business lunch that she would be put in this alarming position.”
Weinstein’s criminal defense attorney, Ben Brafman, called the allegations “preposterous.”
“Like so many other women in this case who have already been exposed as liars, this latest completely uncorroborated allegation that is almost 20 years old will also be shown to be patently false,” Brafman said.

Doe’s allegations have fallen in line with 10 other lawsuits from women who have accused Weinstein of intimidation, unwanted touching, and pressure to perform sexual favors in exchange for business opportunities.
Weinstein has continued to deny all allegations of nonconsensual sex.
“Jane Doe’s decision to join the lawsuit is a brave one given how young she was when Harvey Weinstein attacked her,” Doe’s lawyer, Elizabeth Fegan, said.
Doe’s civil complaint against Weinstein was filed on the last day for lawyers to revise the lawsuit. The judge had given them until Oct. 31 due to skepticism of the strength of their allegations after the studio board was said to have intimidated accusers.
Fegan believes that Wednesday’s 250-page filing makes it clear that the studio board knew Weinstein was a sexual predator but “were making too much money and having too much fun to do anything about it.” “Now they will answer for it,” she said.
