Former One Direction member Harry Styles has been on The Late Late Show with James Corden every night this week, and on Thursday he appeared in Corden’s classic segment, Carpool Karaoke.

HARRY STYLES ON CARPOOL KARAOKE

First and foremost, the pair sang Styles’ first single off his new self-titled album, “Sign of the Times.” They appeared emotionally drained after the performance, really putting their all into it. Styles needed a break for water. “I went somewhere else emotionally, I wasn’t even in the car anymore, you weren’t here, it was just me,” said Corden. “Makes me cry performing it sometimes,” Styles added, “in a cool way.”

Next up was “Sweet Creature,” the album’s second single, and the buddies harmonized on the slow song. Corden then steers the conversation toward fashion, for which Styles is getting known as a bold icon. Corden has them both try on various outfits, pointing out why he can’t pull off the looks, but Styles can. They both end up in argyle sweaters, shiny gold tops, and black mesh tanks with leather vests.

Next on the song list is “Hey Ya” by Outkast, before they turn to karaoke. Corden asks the singer what his go-to song is. “I usually liked to go for Diana, Lionel, “Endless Love.”” And of course the pair breaks into the song, with Styles as Lionel Richie and Corden as Diana Ross. The powerful performance ends with Corden stroking Styles’ cheek. “I can’t quit you,” jokes Corden, before saying “I need to have a chat with your wife.”

Lastly, the two discussed Styles’ involvement in the upcoming film Dunkirk. “You know to be in movies, you’ve gotta be able to just cry on command,” warns Corden “Can you do that, have you got a good cry face?” In response, Styles squirts a bottle of water into his eye. They then decide that Styles should be the lead in a romantic comedy, and Corden gives them scenes to act out. “Why am I always Julie Roberts?” Styles asks.

They end with a rendition of Styles’ “Kiwi,” not complete with some head banging. “Yeah, that just happened,” Corden says.
