GEORGIA CONNICK ARRESTED
Georgia faces charges of procuring alcohol for minors, as well as allowing them to possess alcohol, NBC reported. After an anonymous phone call at 1 a.m. Sunday, where someone reported there was underage drinking occurring, police arrived at the Connick residence to find people fleeing the scene.
Police reported finding empty or half-empty beer cans on the property. Georgia’s parents, Harry Connick Jr. and Jill Goodacre were not present Saturday night. Connick Jr. was at auditions for the upcoming American Idol series. Georgia told the police that she had planned a small party, but then several other people turned up unexpectedly.
Connick Jr. explained to People on Tuesday, “This is a private matter which we are dealing with as a family. We have no further comments. Thank you for understanding.”
Georgia is due to appear in court Sept. 2.
