Harrison Ford In Tears As He Says Goodbye To Indiana Jones At Cannes Film Festival

Harrison Ford, 80, was in tears as he made his final goodbye to his longest-running character, Indiana Jones, at the 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival.

The 80-year-old actor arrived at the French festival with his wife, Calista Flockhart, and the pair were announced at the event as “Indiana Jones and Calista Flockhart.”

After showing a reel of his contributions to film – from Star Wars to Fugitive – he was honored with the Palme d’Or Award, which is the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Festival. More significantly, he received a five-minute-long standing ovation before the screening of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

“I’m very moved by this,” the Star Wars actor said. “They say when you’re about to die, you see your life flash before your eyes, and I just saw my life flash before my eyes.”

The fifth and final installment of Indiana Jones has the titular hero fighting off Nazis in a race to space. Ford is joined by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and was referred to as “one of the reasons” for the film’s success. This will be the only film in the franchise not directed by Steven Spielberg

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will make its way to theaters on June 30.
