Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher And Mark Hamill Reunite At The ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Premiere

Original Star Wars stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill reunited on the red carpet for the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Hollywood Monday night.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Premiere

In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ford returns as Han Solo, while Fisher and Hamill have reprised their roles of Leia and Luke Skywalker. Nearly 40 years ago, when Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope hit theaters, it turned the relatively unknown actors into major stars. They returned to their roles in sequels The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Coming back to the franchise after more than 30 years since Return of the Jedi hit theaters, Hamill told CNN, “It’s like going back to school.”

Fisher, like Hamill, was happy to return as well, and doesn’t mind being primarily known for playing Princess Leia.

“I’ve been this character for 40 years, why would I not? Because I’m going to be associated with Princess Leia more? There is no ‘more,’ ” Fisher told the Wall Street Journal, adding, “And I’m a female working in show business, where, if you’re famous, you have a career until you’re 45, maybe. Maybe. And that’s about 15 people.”

As for the final product of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ford promises that the movie, helmed by J.J. Abrams, delivers.

“I don’t think people are going to be disappointed,” Ford told ABC News. “The movie’s good … I’m really excited to get this movie out there for the audience, and see how they feel about it — and have a nice long sleep.”

While Ford, Hamill and Fisher remain the most recognizable faces of the franchise, the premiere of The Force Awakens introduced the new Star Wars stars, including Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver.
