Hardcore: Film Art
The trailer for the new first-person shooter film Hardcore was recently released, and it is intense.
Hardcore, written and directed by Ilya Naishuller, had its world premier at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday.
The trailer starts with the main character, Henry, waking up in a lab to find he is now a cyborg with mechanical limbs, and no memory of how he got there. His wife and creator, Estelle (Haley Bennet), who is there to help him when he awakens, explains to him that he is capable of saving many lives with his new abilities, but in order to do so he may have to take some lives, as well.
Before long, Estelle is kidnapped by the villain, Akan (Danila Kozlovsky), and Henry starts on his journey through Moscow, Russia, to save her. From then on the trailer takes us from one intense scene to the next, all filmed from the first-person perspective, just like a first-person shooter (FPS) video game.
Akan has telekinetic abilities, as well as his own army at his back, which will make it all the more difficult for Henry to rescue his wife. The only friend Henry has in this new world is Jimmy, played by Sharlto Copley, who fights alongside him. But can Henry really trust him?
Take a look at the crazy, bloody, action-packed trailer below.
