Halo and NECA unveiled new photos of a Master Chief Modular Motorcycle Helmet, to be available in the summer of 2015.
Over a year after Halo announced their partnership with the National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA), the highly anticipated Halo helmet is finally being released. The helmet, inspired by that of Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, will be available to ship in July.
When NECA and Halo announced their partnership in November of 2013, they revealed plans for official action figures, board games and motorcycle helmets.
“I won’t lie, the idea of cruising around on my motorbike with a Halo-inspired DOT approved helmet gives me goose bumps,” Frank O’Connor, Franchise Development Director of 343 Industries (Halo) said at the time.
Fans were awarded their first glimpse at the helmets last June, and NECA revealed more detailed images of the motorcycle helmet on Valentine’s Day. The images are not final, but the helmet depicted is cleared for real world usage by the US Department of Transportation.
Available in four sixes (Small, Medium, Large and X Large), the Halo helmet features UV protection and a reflective shield as well as interior padding to ensure a good fit. The DOT-approved helmet also includes air intake vents in the front and exhaust vents in the back, to minimize shield fogging and keep the wearer nice and cool.
